Pat has more than 10 years experience as a Master Instructor for Heartland School of Music. He teaches acoustic and electric guitar, bass guitar, banjo, mandolin and upright bass lessons in Arlington, TX. Pat also teaches elementary school science and holds a degree in Music Education from North Texas University. He holds graduate hours in Education from TWU, Texas A&M and UT Arlington. He has studied privately with Rich Bertone, Johnny Red, Clint Strong (guitar), Dr. Ed Rainbow, Ed Garcia, Wayne Darling and Chuck Rainey (bass). His teaching career spans more than 25 years with the Arlington Independent School District and has served for 20 years as a volunteer on the Music Staff at Mission Arlington.
Pat has worked as a clinician for the Arlington ISD, Jam Music and UT Arlington. Pat has played professionally for more than 30 years. During the summer months, Pat hosts several workshops at local area music stores. Pat is also a UT Arlington qualified teacher. Pat, and his wife Kathy, own Heartland School of Music and Smiling Dog Productions. They have 2 new CD's that will be out shortly; Central Standard Time and Heartland Radio Hour. Pat uses the Traditional Method of teaching. He is very patient and thorough and insists on excellence and commitment. Pat teaches Country, Christian, Classical, Pop and Rock genres at the music school in Arlington, TX.
